Today is all about a cake made by my mother, Holly. She isn’t a Holly with an EY, but the title just works better that way. Obvi.
During the holidays, she throws an ‘Around the World Party’ that features different countries food traditions and festivities. For the party, she made a French Buche de Noel, which translates to ‘Christmas Log’ and is pretty darn impressive. The mushrooms? Yea, those are meringue mushrooms. I just blew your mind, didn’t I? Holley doesn’t frost the cake, keeping it light and feathery, but adorns the cake with chocolate curls and powdered sugar.
And it’s gluten free, but full of those wonderful things like butter, cream and sugar.
