Now for the yummy part of the baby shower.
We kept things simple and had small bites for our guests to enjoy. On the savory side, we had heart shaped Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches and Egg Salad that was neatly spread between pink and red bread (thanks to a Nebraska bakery) with a bundle of chives on top. A classic Corn Beef & Cheese sandwich completed our sandwich tower and Orzo Salad filled with roasted peppers, cabbage, spinach, pine nuts and topped with a lemon garlic dressing completed our savory options.
The sweets. Yum, my favorite part. It was no question that we had to bake Red Velvet Cupcakes adorned with an ‘R’ for soon to be Miss Ruby. Individual Chocolate Pudding Shots with a graham cracker crust and a marshmallow top sat on our vintage high chair. Lastly, Strawberry Skewers drizzled with chocolate were washed down with Dry Vanilla Bean and Rhubard Soda.
Have you drooled enough yet? I’ll let you wipe your mouth now.
This baby shower was a blast to prepare and craft for, and I am glad that my mother and I had the ability to share a special day with our cousin and her babe to be!

Seriously, I am begging someone – anyone – to save me a red velvet cupcake one of these times you make them!!! Throw me a bone here!!
