What could be more great than walking around a desert in 106° heat? Maybe our timing wasn’t the greatest, visiting Palm Springs in the off season when it is hotter than hot, but we made the most of our trip and drove over to the The Living Desert. It is Palm Desert’s only zoo and botanical garden. The aviaries, butterfly garden, and hummingbirds were some of my favorite areas to view. I also enjoyed watching the sleeping fennec foxes and mexican wolves.
The best part? Another carousel at the end of our walk. And of course we had the best pick of animals. You know, since there were no children in line. The 106° heat gave us first choice. Yes.
