Sometimes I wonder how I became so craftey. Then I remember the cross stitch, friendship bracelets, quilts, and many other creative activities when I was little. This all leads me to believe the creativity in my bones comes from the most versatile, smart, and creative lady I know, my mom. It was ever so clear this past weekend, while home for Thanksgiving.
Over the holiday, our family gathered together to 1. Eat a traditional turkey day meal and 2. To reveal the sex of my cousin’s baby with a cake, made by yours truly. All those deets come tomorrow. Keeping the weekend cohesive, my mother wanted to incorporate ‘baby’ into her Thanksgiving Day table. I might say she did a fantastic job.
She bought party store baby shoes, baby bottles, pacifiers, and diaper pins, spray painted them and sprinkled them into the decor of the table. No detail was missed, the napkin holders incorporated felted acorns, pacifiers, pins, and pine cones, were all created by hand. Fresh flowers, gourds, and lanterns adorned the table for a rustic feel and the vintage table settings pulled the tablescape together.
Are you at all surprised that my craftey stems from this woman? Me thinks not.
Oh, and yes mom, this is most definitely Pinterest pinning worthy. Props to you.
