I have a recipe box. Old school. Like write down your recipes on cards, file them away and forget about them. I like the novelty, so this week I thumbed through recipes and found a casserole from my grandma that I made and also a ‘snickerdoodle’ recipe from a coworker.
Snickerdoodle cookies fall into the ‘not fancy’ baking category, but I remembered these cookies to be delightful. I whipped some up, took them to work, and all the comments were “What great sugar cookies!” Hello, these are snickerdoodles. People sometimes.
I guess Snickerdoodles typically have cinnamon sugar tops, but I prefer a sparkle sugar top. And they usually have cream of tartar. Right? My inherited recipe does not, yet it includes lemon zest and almond extract.
So, I now dub these here cookies, ‘snickerdoodles remixed’. Wacca wacca woow <insert katey rap>.
