Weekend getaways are my favorite, especially when I visit friends. It’s nice to transpose your weekend to a different city and live like the locals. I have been to New York quite a few times and seen all the tourist landmarks. Now when I go to Brooklyn to visit, it’s all about good conversations, friends and food. And a lot walking to burn off the calories… only to end up at another food destination. It’s really great.
On Saturday we had a late brunch at Speedy Romeo in Clinton Hill. We ate tapas style and had their crisp romaine Caesar salad, wood fired pizzas, caramelized banana french toast and 1/2 pound cheeseburger. This is why the walking is so important kids. I loved the little details, like the shop rag napkins since the restaurant is situated in an old auto parts store, and the over large painting of their family racehorse, Speedy Romeo, in the open kitchen.
Now that you are done slobbering over the lunch hour, be sure to check back for more Brooklyn adventures this week! Video included.
