All good thoughts come to me as I am sitting on Norma the sofa or laying on my ‘cloud’ bed. This week’s dilemma to solve was if I should buy a new necklace for a dress I recently purchased. I found many necklaces that I loved at the stores, but the $50+ price tags were unpractical for my budget. Then the thought came to me, ‘Make my own necklace!’
I went to my craft closet and Gathered materials. Broken necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry, ribbons, fabric, feathers, glue, scissors, pliers and felt were all arranged on my kitchen table ready for designing. I pulled out Jefferson Consuela, my dress form, slipped the new dress on her and created a Base as my necklace foundation. After that I Made it Pretty by sewing on chiffon circles, Swarovski crystals, pearls and guinea feathers, which were all repurposed materials. Lastly, I Reviewed the Details and did a happy dance that I saved $50. Need a necklace? Looks like I am your lady!
