Last weekend I had the pleasure to attend Monkey Town 4 in Denver, a video cinema and dining experience that originated in Brooklyn. Showcasing video and musical artists in addition to local restaurants, such as The Populist, City O’ City/Watercourse Foods and Noble Swine, you must not miss this show.
Located in a large warehouse in RINO, the building is large, dark and empty minus the video cube in the center. The evening starts with a glass of bubbly as you walk around the video cube that is showing scenes of Central Park. Once you enter the cube you are served a five course meal with wine pairings as the evening progresses. The weekly performance for our meal was Real Magic, who sounded like Beirut meets Tom Waits. Take a listen below.
Everything combined, the visual art, music, amazing food and people was an extremely memorable evening that I will never forget!
